Today has been interesting and a struggle within itself. My mother, out of nowhere, basically began questioning me about being a terrorist. She didn't use that exact word, but the implications were quite clear. This infuriated me, but I held my tongue. And quite frankly, I just felt bad for her more than anything. I know we are supposed to have complete respect for our parents, but sometimes I just want to cut off communication completely. And I overheard a couple of guys making a 'joke' about muslims at the basketball court. Without a doubt, I was the only muslim there and I am sure they have no idea but I didn't say anything to them. Now I wonder if I should have and it kind of bothers me. I know it would have caused myself more ridicule especially behind my back. Of course I do not care what they say, for they are all unbelievers and I do not associate with them outside of the basketball courts anyway. Speaking of which, I need to find some brothers to play ball with haha. I noticed that these couple incidents just made me feel even closer to Allah. I am so blessed to have His guidance. Alhamdulillah, He will continue to guide all brothers and sisters along their paths. The ummah shall rise again inshallah. I just felt venting a little. If your reading this, thanks for listening......or reading it. lol salam to all my brothers and sisters

wa alaikum salaam bro,
haha, i'm with you brother, i've been through it. I got into it with my mom once, she was telling me to be careful about who I hang around with, "especially the son of the Iranian family (actually pakistani) down the street") Ha.....but I understand that she is just concerned, and for good reason no doubt. Stay up bro.
As salaamu alaikum
Abdul Salaam

It's not suppose to be easy living in a non muslim country. In a world where our biggest source of knowledge is the media, no wonder people are harsh. their just ignorant, look at it as a test from Allah. As a muslim, I will always back up you, and I'm sure the rest of the ummah will so to..But u know what? Unlike those khafers, u got Allah on ur side. Whats greater then that? May Allah reward you for ur patience, and give u plenty more. Ameen!!Volume 7, Book 70, Number 545: Narrated Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri and Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "No fatigue, nor disease, nor sorrow, nor sadness, nor hurt, nor distress befalls a Muslim, even if it were the prick he receives from a thorn, but that Allah expiates some of his sins for that." Volume 7, Book 70, Number 548: Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said, "If Allah wants to do good to somebody, He afflicts him with trials."
