93% of Muslims Are Moderate!

Salam,

Just thought I'd share my feelings about a recent research conducted by The Gallup Organization, the world's most prestigious research institution. The research sampled 50,000 Muslims from 40 different countries.

Well, the findings are impressive to say the least. 93% of Muslims are moderate and they reject violent acts. Unfortunately, the research also showed an alarming trend, 57% of westerners don't find ANYTHING they admire about Muslims or Islam. But still, there is a lot we can do about that. Right?

moderate? who defines what is moderate....Some non muslims define a moderat muslim as a woman who doesnt cover and a man who dates and drinks....

Are the polls are correct or what ? Can we 93% sure thats what the polls says bout us Muslim..So who decides on all this..Only Allah knows best not the Researchers.

ditto to Susana. more often than not, the best dawa a Muslim has is their own self, their conduct, words, their choices. insha'allah may more "westerners" (what about Muslims living in the West, or converts from Western countries / cultures?) see the deen represented through good and sincere Muslims. may we represent for one another and for the world, insha'allah.

CultureB- I think the admin here just stated that it was a survey*, hence, the people identified themselves*** as moderates.

well with the media always barraging their "consumers" constantly with negative tabloid news about muslims im infact amazed that it is only 57%, ofcourse there is room for progress.. but well done Muslims! :)

There is technically no such thing as mode moderatism* in Islam. Islam is just Islam. The violent acts committed by terrorists are bizarre actions declaring war not only against the whole of mankind but against Allah as well...*nauthubillah* So yeah, overall, we are all average Muslims and the terrorists out there were* average human beings at a certain point of their lives until they happened to stumble across a bunch of hypocritical "mullahs" and thus, had their brains washed to be known as terrorists today.
