Copy Right Dawn Newspaper 4th June 2006 Magazine Palestine has been a bone of contension between Muslims and Zionists for over a century now. The great land of Palestine has seen Prophets, dis believers, wars, bloodshed over the course of time. There are many people who argue about the history, and to whom the " PROMISED LAND" belongs too?. Recently Iranian President even said that Israel should be wiped of the map. The sources through which history of Palestine can be learned are mostly altered, like Bible. The only correct source is Quran. Here the history of Palestine from the origin of Israeli people till the end of holocaust and assembling of jews will be analyzed. Majority of the Prophets God sent live in the holy land of Palestine. According to Archeological excavation and Quranic studies, Prophet Ibrahim (P.B.U.H), his son Ismael and a small number of people were the first to migrate to Palestine, which was at that time called Cannan, around 19th century BC. Many commentators of Quran believe that Prophet Ibrahim who migrated with Prophet Lut lived in area( Hebron), nowadays called Al-Khalil. " We delivered both him(Ibrahim) and Lut the land which We had blessed for all beings" ( Quran 21:71) This verse indicates blessed land not for jews alone but for all beings including Muslims and Christians. After this migration Prophet Yaqub, son of Prophet Ishaaq emigrated to Egypt during the royal appointment of his beloved son Prophet Yusuf, who after his release from prison was appointed as the head of Egyptian treasury. Prophet Yaqub's son are also known as " Children Of Israel". For a long time Children of Israel lived in peace and security in Egypt. After good time spent by Children of Israel Pharoah became king and treated them harshly. God then sent Prophet Musa, who was ordered to lead them out of Egypt. Initially Pharoah enslaved Isreaelis, but with the help of prophet Musa Children of Israel fled Egypt with the help of God's miracle in which pharoah was drowned in the sea along it's army. Around 1250 Bc Children of Israel settled in Sinai Peninsula and in eastern Cannan. In Quran Prophet Musa's words are mentioned as" My people, enter the Holy land, which God has ordained for you". After their assemble in the holy land Prophet Dawud became king and his son Prophet Sulayman extended borders from river Nile in the south to the river euphrates in the north. After the death of prophet Sulayman a number of prophets were sent to Children of Israel but they did not listen to him and repelled against God. It was after the death of Prophet Sulayman that they put aside all his teachings and were subjected to the anger of God the Almighty. Their kingdom was divided and shattered by King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon (589 BC), the cause of the first Diaspora. He destroyed the Temple of Solomon and placed the entire Jewish community in bondage in Babylon; and this time, Cyrus the great came to their rescue and restored them in Palestine. After Ptolemyأ¢â‚¬â„¢s defeat, Palestine came under the influence of Persians. This lasted till the defeated Carthiganian King Hannibal was given Church and the Romans conquered and annexed Palestine with Rome. Palestine was occupied by the Roman Empire, God sent Prophet Isa (Jesus) to their rescue but very few believed. It was on their ruthless demand that Pontius Pilate (26 AD), the Roman procurator of Ludea, persecuted Prophet Jesus. In the 70 AD uprising, Roman general Titus destroyed the Temple of Solomon again and killed Jews. God plagued the Jews with the Romans who drove them out of Palestine. "Those among the tribe of Israel who disbelieved were cursed on the tongue Dawud and that of Isa, son of Maryam" Quran 5:78. Thus, the Jews are themselves to blame. II Jerusalem is sacred to Muslims because of two major reasons. 1) First Qibla of Muslims 2) Due to miracleous journey of Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) to Mairaj The site around Al-Aqsa Mosque is reffered in Quran as" Whose surroundings we have blessed". Many Prophets are also buried in Jerusalem. In the year 637 AD Palestine came under the control of Muslims which brought an end of era which was full of wars and bloodshed. Conquerer of this great land this time was Umar ibn al-Khattab, the second Caliph. With the advent of Islam and Muslim rule to Palestine, Juresalem became civilized. Justice and tolerence prevaled all of Palestine. But it soon ended with the advent of Crusaders. Pope decided that crusades should be prganized, this call was made by Pope Urban II on 27 November 1095, where more than 100,000 Europeans advanced towards Palestine to free the "HOLY LAND" from Muslims. The crusaders reached Jerusalem in 1099, and after 4-5 weeks Jerusalem was under the control of crusaders. It's said thatin two days crusaders killed nearly 40,000 Muslims brutally. This rule was short lived and great Saladin started war against the crusaders at the battle of Hattin in 1187, Saladin captured Jerusalem on the holy night of Al-Qadr and freed it from 88 years of crusader's occupation. Not a single christian was killed. On the other hand In 1194, Richard the Lionheart, exucuted around 3,000 Muslims in the castle of Acre. Sultan Salem captured Jerusalem in 1514 and 400 years of Ottoman rule in Palestine began. Thirty years war (1618-1648) broke because Spain was not tolerating the existence of Muslims and Jews. Due to this nearly one-third of the population of Germany was killed. Ottoman Sultans brought peace and justice in the holy land, but with the end of Muslim rule in 1917, war and bloodshed started again. III When Roman army captured Jerusalem in 70 AD, Jews scattered through out the world. Jews wanted to return to Palestine and Jerusalem because of two reasons. 1) Jews considered themselves blessed over all the people. 2) Europaen people especially Christians did'nt like Jews. Throughout the middle ages Jews earn through interest as it's not forbidden in their religion. They acquired lot of wealth and became rich in which primary source was this interest. During the French revolution, a social turmoil spread through out Europe, and gaining advantage of this revolution Jews acquired civil equality. As told that Jews had emotional attachment for cannan ( Palestine), Jews started preparing to enter holy land. First british to enter British House of Lords was Rothschild Banker, from which the power of Jews began. For centuries Jews thought they can only return to Palestine with the help of a savior(Messaih). In the middle of 19th century two rabbis ( Rabbi Judah and Rabbi Zevi) thought Jews have acquired enough wealth and political power that they no longer need Messiah. This influenced the minds of young Jews, most famous of them was Austrian Journalist Theodor Herzl who founded political " ZIONISM" derived from mount Zion in Jerusalem. Later on World Zionist Organization was founded in switzerland in 1898. Till 1917 many Jews immigrated to Palestine. Nearly 100,000 Jews emigrated to Palestine between (1920-29). If one considers that there were about 750,000 Palestinians at that time, then 100,000 is certainly no small number. ""Till 1947, there were 630,000 Jews in Palestine and 1.3 million Palestinians. Between November 29, 1947, when Palestine was partitioned by the United Nations, and May 15, 1948, Zionist captured 3/4 of Palestine. During this time, the number of Palestinians living in 500 cities, towns, and villages dropped from 950,000 to 138,000 as a result of attacks and massacres. Thus, 400 Palestinian villages were wiped off the map during (1948-49). . Until 1947, Jewish land ownership in Palestine was some 6%. By the time the state was formally established, it had sequestered 90% of the land.""___ Harun Yahya's Palestine Thus history suggests the following important facts. * blessed land is not for jews alone but for all beings including Muslims and Christians. * Millions are killed by crusaders and zionists, but Muslims have brought peace and harmony to the region. * Israel must rid itself of radical Zionist ideology, an obstacle to peace and friendship, and it must recognize the rights of all Palestinian Muslims.
