(I make my titles "sensationalist" to get your attention, no offense)
I recall some brother's lament over why women tease him and won't give him the time of day till he is financially responsible to marry. I say, I see the beauty of why Allah tells us to lower the gaze. I liken it to windowshopping, and you don't have any money; why look at that which you are unable to attain? It only increases your wanting of it, but not your ability to have it; which may drive you to do haram to attain that which your heart desires.
Don't window shop if you're broke, teasing and tormenting your soul. Likewise, don't involve yourself with the opposite sex, if you're not seriously considering and able to "purchase".
