Question: Is it permissible to declare a Jew or a Christian to be a kaafir (disbeliever)? |
|
Answer: It is permissible for a Muslim to say that a Jew or a Christian is a kaafir because Allaah has described them with this attribute in the Quraan. And this is known to the person who reflects upon the Quraan. From this is His - the most High – statement: Indeed those who disbelieved (kafaroo) from the People of the Book and the Polytheists are in the Fire of Hell to reside therein forever. They are the worst of all Creation.
And the People of the Book are the Jews and the Christians.
