Salaam alaikum, I know many of my fellow Muslim Americans find it impossible economically or for other reasons for them to pack up their family & make hijrak overseas. However, I want to share with you some information. I would like, first however, to take a moment to ask a question: Are you satisfied with the surroundings you live in? If not, why not consider looking at an alternative you may never have thought of? Sister Nieema and Sister Idonna both give wonderful statements on why they like the fact that they moved to South Dakota. It may not be "Hollywood" or "the Big Apple", but that is the point! Why live where the dunya is at its worst? So I thought I would share here the reasons I believe Muslims living in the US should consider moving to South Dakota (regardless of their race!) if they can not make hijrah overseas. (1)Plentiful jobs! (2)obtainable housing prices! starting at $20,000 (2a) rental assistance (3)Ability to buy homes/land without interest (4)ability to wear hijab w/o harassment (5)ability to wear sunnah beards w/o harassment (6)ability to raise your kids away from gangs & inner-city violence (7)ability to homeschool without a teacher's certification (8)ability to get training in fields such as welding on-the-job (9)ability to find jobs in the high-tech industry (10)Sioux Falls, SD has once again been listed as one of the TOP 10 places to start a business (11)Less state red-tape when it comes to EVERYTHING! (12)Islamic centers/masjids in the following towns: Sioux Falls, Brookings, Rapid City. (13)ability to rent family housing at lower prices (less than $800, sometimes as low as $300 if not in the larger cities). (14)public schools that don't need security officers or metal detectors at the door! (15)a more modest perspective of dress amongst the non-Muslim population (accept for what you sometimes find on campuses). (16)ability to send your kids to in-state universities for their ENTIRE 4 yr program, for the cost of one semester in other universities! (17) and so many other reasons, including access to the farm fresh products we wish to have. (18) access to halal meat. (19) lower cost of living (20) lower taxes (21) and more....so much more. selams,
Yes I agree, those who arent able to make hijra to one of the muslim contries should not hesitate to move to another state in the US, a state like south dakota. Even moving to some of the southern states where traditional christians dominate would be better then living in the fitnah of the large cities.
also note that in saudi arabia mor then 20 000 britons live and work. americans, south africans, filipins and many other too...
I am not american, I don't know about your life details as muslims in the US, but If you are thinking like that, and trying to move from one state to another to find a more suitable life for you as muslims, then you are a great example of those muslims who try to make a balance between this life and your faith!
You make me think about my self, and about my life!
Thanks & Allah with you, our fellow muslims from the U.S.!!
And thank you sister, the writer!

Selam to all,
thanks sister anisah of south dakota for leaving a comment on my guestbook and elighting me on this issue. In my previous post with the southarn more traditionaly states i was refering to something that american tend to refer to as the christian belt. I thought that they are MORE TRADIONTIONAL in the aspect that there is not as much fitna as in the most urban places. I wasnt right, your information was very englighting.
sister bintwill said there is no such as muslim country, to and extent I must agree although we must not forget that although fitna is spreading in the muslim countries rapidly its not like the west or europe...But not far from that either. an example of this is Kosova, the place I live, which is 98% muslim as some say, but no difference from any europe or american place you name only the poverty is higher...
note: (muslim countries meaning contries with dominating muslim population)
